more wildflower prep

pick up clean bike from bike shop -- check!

sleeping bag -- check!

trainer -- check!

pinata -- check!

tortillas -- check!

salsa -- check!

since Kim and I are driving down tomorrow (and we both were pretty free today), Janet tasked us with bringing Saturday's dinner. we originally decided on a traditional pasta-kinda meal, but then creativity struck and I persuaded Kim that we should celebrate Cinco de Mayo, complete with pinata and mexican music on the ipod. so, tonight I'm chopping tomatos and cooking chicken and beef. maybe I'll pack later.

Did you stuff a pinata with gels and power bars, or did you just buy one pre stuffed with sugary goodness?

I have to stuff it, but I'm putting good stuff in it -- not powerbars of gels.

Hmmm, Mexican food. I could be coerced into celebrating the victory of the campesinos of the Puebla area over the French army. If you have too much, we are but a short diversion off 101 on your way south :-)

you could get the best of both worlds and wrap your pasta up in a tortilla.

yummy carbo-load.

you know that it's gonna be HOOOOOTTTTTT!!

I have done wildflower several times and melted each time. hopefully there's still the jamba juice booth in the expo for amazing ice cold post-race beverages.

have FUN!

I have done Wildflower several times and the heat never ceases to melt me. As a cyclist-only, you'll miss the nude Cal Poly co-eds at the 6 mile run aid station. boo hoo.

Hopefully the jamba juice booth is still at the expo for the best icy post-race drinks (before the real drinking begins...)
have fun!

apparently they don't allow the nude water stop anymore, but about 30 calpoly boys & girls streaked through camp on saturday night. I love the athletic body, but there was ust something wrong with that picture. funniest was the sweet little asian boy without a hair on his body but a forest of pubic hair -- ick!

the whole things was a bit bizarre, but like a moth to the flame I couldn't turn my gaze away.
